VA-Funded Research Projects are listed below.
Cross-Center and National Collaborations:
QUERIs are national programs intended to focus efforts to improve care for diseases and conditions that are highly prevalent in our Veteran population. There are now nine QUERI Centers, two of which are based at Bedford:
HIV/Hepatitis QUERI -- The mission of QUERI HIV-Hepatitis is to improve the identification and care of veterans infected with the Human Immunodeficiency (HIV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) viruses. For further information please contact Joanne Dussault, Assistant to Dr. Gifford, at joanne.dussault@va.gov.
eHealth QUERI -- The strategic goals for the eHealth QUERI are: a)to augment access and meaningful use of eHealth tools including MyHealtheVet, and b)to enhance Veteran self-management and participation in collaborative care through the design, evaluation, and implementation of appropriate eHealth tools. For further information, please contact Beth Ann Petrakis, Administrative Coordinator, at bethann.petrakis@va.gov.
CHQOER Investigators also participate in the Diabetes Mellitus, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Disorder QUERI programs.
The Model Development and Implementation Core for the National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans is also based at CHQOER. This Core supports the National Center's Mission "to promote recovery-oriented care for Veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness." Core activities facilitate development and evaluation of practical care options and implementation of relevant research findings into clinical practice, by:
